Let’s Help the Street Homeless in St. Augustine Once again this year, the Sunset Circle is asking for your support as they collect new and gently used blankets, socks, and coats for the homeless. Beginning on November 25th, these items can be placed in the specially marked bin in the Caring Corner (near the nursery door, in the overflow room). Blankets, bedspreads, afghans, quilts, and throws are gladly accepted. Also, socks and coats for men, women, and children can be placed in the bin. All of the items will be taken downtown to First United Methodist Church. The volunteers at FUMC will distribute items or use them on “cold weather nights” when they open the doors of the Fellowship Hall to provide a warm place for the street homeless to shelter. The collection will continue until January.
If you have any questions about this mission, contact Cheryl Jeffries, Vicki Hall, or Linda Meyer.
